A three-part series of workshops which aims to build the governance capacity of non-profit organizations in the communities of Lanark County and Smiths Falls.
Our workshop leader will be Mike Coxon, one of the few Board Source Certified Governance trainers based in Canada (for more info on Mike, please click here).
Here is the series of workshops – click on the titles for more details of what Mike will be covering:
Workshop 1 (MAY 5/18) – Leading with Intent – 9 AM – 3 PM (lunch incl.) – this workshop will cover: Thinking about your mission – Provide an overview of Board Roles & Responsibilities – Learning about practical tools and approaches to governance work – Examining how to build and sustain a positive and productive Board team – Connecting with colleagues and explore opportunities for collaboration. (Location: Almonte Curling Club Lounge, 160 Bridge Street, Almonte)
Workshop 2 (MAY 17/18) – Leading for Impact –6:30PM to 9:30PM – This workshop is intended to provide an opportunity for Lead Staff (EDs) and Board Chairs to explore approaches to leading their organizations. It will also provide a great opportunity for individuals who are or may be considering taking on Board Chair or ED roles to prepare for those positions. (Location: Brunton Hall, 1702 9th Line Beckwith, Township of Beckwith)
Workshop 3 (MAY 31/18) – Community Engagement and Community Building for Non-Profit Boards – 6:30PM to 9:30PM – This workshop is intended to create opportunities for Lead Staff (EDs) and Board Chairs to explore approaches to helping their organizations to be more “outward facing” and engaged in community building. (Location: Brunton Hall, 1702 9th Line Beckwith, Township of Beckwith)
