Message from the President | Message from Executive Director

On behalf of our Board of Directors, I welcome you to the new United Way of Lanark County Web Site. Thank you for your interest.

This year our campaign runs from September 21, 2007 until November 30, 2007. Having taken on a new agency, Lanark County Community Justice Program Inc., continuing a mutually beneficial relationship with Algonquin College, Perth campus, in their Social Service Worker and Personal Service Worker programs and working with our new strategic plan and funding priorities the board of directors has set a goal of $367,000.

The United Way network now consists of 16 agencies and 4 United Way programs. In 2006 our network served over 6,600 residents including children, youth, families, seniors and those with special needs.

With over 45 programs and services the communities of Lanark County and Smiths Falls are impacted on a daily basis through After School Programs, Meals On Wheels, Friendly Visiting, Special Projects Grants, the Angel Tree and In School Mentoring to name just a few of the services funded by your United Way.

If you would like to help or are interested in joining our Board of Directors or being a volunteer please don’t hesitate to let us know. We would be privileged to have you join us to assist in continuing our work in your communities.

Please check out our Special Events for 2007. The Warden of Lanark County, Mr. Al Lunney, has dedicated the annual Warden’s Golf Tournament to United Way. The tournament is being held at the Links O’ Tay golf course in Perth on Friday August 10, 2007

You can find us at 15 Bates Drive, Carleton Place ON K7C 4J8. Brenda and Sarah would be pleased to show you around and share information about the United Way operation.

Thank you again for your interest in the United Way of Lanark County. “Get In The Way” and help us make 2007 another successful year.

Janet Brennan
President
