Message from the President | Message from Executive Director

Thank you for visiting the United Way of Lanark County website. The Board of Directors and Executive Director invite you to learn more about the work we do on behalf of your community.

For over 20 years your United Way has served the Lanark County/Smiths Falls community. More than 45 services and programs are offered annually to children, youth, families, seniors and those with disabilities.

2008 saw the United Way of Lanark County receiving higher donations than our goal. Thank you for your contributions, which assisted more than 16 agencies and 7,563 individuals in Lanark County and Smith’s Falls. In light of the current economic downturn we know that more people are likely to require more services as jobs are lost and services reduced. Your contributions therefore, will be even more meaningful to our community.

We anticipate an escalated marketing campaign to support our goal of $370,000 for 2009. Supporting our drive will be a number of community events, including the annual Kickoff Breakfast on September 25th where Special Project Grants are given out. The Canada Post Carleton Place annual BBQ held on the grounds of the post office follows this event. Nicholson’s Sundries in Pakenham is holding their annual BBQ on September 26th. The Pakenham Civitan Club, United Way representatives and staff from Nicholson’s make it an event you don’t want to miss. We look forward to seeing you at these fun occasions.

The United Way of Lanark County is committed to its mission - to improve lives and build community by engaging individuals and mobilizing collective action. To fulfill this mission we rely on the generosity of our local residents and corporate sponsors to give input to our future planning.

Thank you for visiting, please come back often to view our updated events page and monitor our ongoing progress.
